Ouch

I had a really bad shoulder, hip and back ache yesterday. It especially hurt when I took deep breath so exercise was not as intense. I only got exercise from morning cleaning.
While I feel a lot better I am just a little sore.
Eating: Not so great but I hope to eat better this week.

Dream Home Gym

I am majorly de-cluttering today so I guess that’s my workout.

Dream Home Gym
VH Melville

What would you add to your home gym if recourses and space were limitless?
I guess I could get all these items if I really wanted but I fear boredom if I got the all at once.
I would get a rebounder or mini tramp. “Not sure I will get this right now. I have the recourses but I am majorly de-cluttering now and might wait a while for this.”
Small petal cycle. Smaller and cheaper than a stationary bike.
Ten pound weights
I’d get the next version of Yourself Fitness
I think I’d get a new screen for my old playstation to or a capture card so I could play it on my comp screen. I think Wii is creaming playstation 3 and the fact more people even want playstaion 2 over play station 3.

How was your weekend? Thanks

How was your weekend mine was so fabulas. I spent time with my husband.
I enjoyed mu shu chicken and the most indulgent ice cream cone. The ice cream was sugar free but there were added candy mix ins. This was part of my plan. I did get some exercise in though it was less than I liked.
I was a bad eater Sunday and breakfast today was a nightmare. I feel okay about it instead of I had a binge freak out. I was sleepy and overate. I must find ways to sleep more and drink more water. I am not dieting but trying to eat in balance.
Exercise makes me feel a lot better.

Iportion Challenge: 95% Regain is a Myth: For writers : Thankful List:

Iportion Challenge: We be will be doing a challenge soon but unlike other changes it’s not a computation and I am still working on details.

95% Regain is a Myth
I read a back over of another diet book. I got it for free and I am going to hopefully read it. There was a common mistake that is often spotted in the diet industry that 95% of people who lose weight gain it back in year. It was not a few studies it was 1 small study that was full of mistakes. Actually 20% keep the weight off for longer than a year and 28% for weight watchers. All right those aren’t the greatest numbers but they sure are higher than %5
Low carb dieters regain is higher but that’s due to restrictiveness and not all low carb diets are of the same quality. They all seemed to be lumped together.

For writers :
I haven't read the book. I plan to get the first book on promoting your published work. It will be one of my end of summer exercise rewards.

Eating Healthy mmmm Nuts: My junk Food confessions: When Buying yourself Prizes saves your Fitness Budget : Thanks

Eating Healthy mmmm Nuts: My junk Food confessions: When Buying yourself Prizes saves your Fitness Budget : Thanks

Eating Healthy mmmm Nuts:
I did eat nuts the first day or the day before my new plan. I find I still need to journal but can’t count points right now.
I decided to take Living to Feel Good's advice with nuts.
I ate 2 and half whole peanuts and another 2 peanuts for a night time snack. I removed the shell and wrote it in my journal. I am not planning to eat fistfuls so having to shell them myself does slow down on mindless snacking.
I still weigh and measure some foods though.
If you hate to weigh and measure why not get bowls that are in the size of a cup then you always know your portion size? I am thinking it might be a good idea to get portion control bowls.

My junk Food confessions:
I was shocked that I remained as low under budget today for buying groceries. I did buy a lot of junk food. The ice cream is low carb and cal but I got a lot of candy and treats. It’s for my 4th anniversary. I got my husband a smoshed ice cream kit. You know the kind with the marble slab and big spoons that is popular with ice cream parlors. The candy is for the mix ins.

When Buying yourself Prizes saves your Fitness Budget:
I did it I found out I am a little over halfway to my first fitness goal of 30 workouts by august. Yesterday I thought I was still days away from that.
Gyms are great but like home fitness equipment things we purchases are only of any real value if we use them. I wondered if my prizes cost too much and then I realized when replying to NIUiceprincess comments on physical activity that my prizes for exercise are less than I would spend on my local gym membership. I am not getting them right away I am saving them. I have mini goals and bigger goals and I get to get my prizes months away that cuts back on mindlessly buying things.
Now I sort of longed to go to something that sounds intresting like a gym like crunch, offers trainers or one that alwows me to take my little one.
Even if the gym is the best option for you might want to reward yourself.
After august I will start another reward for me for October or January.

Inspired Fitness: Gratitude Homework: Review: The Science of Getting Rich Vrs The Secret: Thankful list:

Inspired Fitness: I did two mini strength training sessions today and earned a full workout with it because I am up to 7. I cleaned the house again today. I feel good today about my eating and exercising. What inspires you to eat healthy? What makes you feel good and not pressured about taking care of yourself?

Gratitude Homework: Find one way this week you can pass on love and charity to another. One way you can build someone up.

Review: The Science of Getting Rich Vrs The Secret

I am comparing the Secret DVD to the original book The science of getting rich by Wallace D. Wattles. I have not read the book the secret as of yet

The science of Getting Rich is far more complete than the Secret it was almost as if the Secret author only gave you half the book and kept big parts to herself.
It seems the Rhonda Byrne She changed God to the universe and removed all references to god in the original source. She left out the whole second part of the book which is action and doing what you love.

I disagree with it’s The Science of Getting Rich’s view on charity though I do agree one should not dwell on poverty.
Finacale experts do say that giving a % of income to charity actually builds wealth but someone shouldn't give to others for that alone.
I believe acting with charity is key to bringing wealth of soul even though it might not be wealth in the pocket book. Acting with a charitable heart gives me a joy that cannot be bought.
Other than that aspect the book is far more developed than the secret DVD. As I stated before the DVD would have been better without the Meta-Physician as well as the knock down of conventional medicine. The science book also didn’t delve into medicine other than stating medical Physician who love what they do and visions themselves doing well make more money because people like them. Some diseases and disabilities cannot be cured at this time and that doesn’t mean the person who got the disease was a negative person.
How do you know if the person who created the medicine wasn’t using the secret or the science to heal you?

Gratitude Homework: More on Exercise and Rewards: Savings: Thankful List

Gratitude Homework: Thankful list Homework I want you to write three things that you are grateful for. You don’t have to share but you are invited to if you want too.

More on Exercise and Rewards:
I am much more active since I restarted my reward system. My back still hurts a little but I feel a lot healthier now that I am moving.
The sun was shining today so I took a long walk today worked on my weights and used my stability ball. I am now cleaning more now that I count a half hour of cleaning as half a workout. I am still not a perfect at house cleaning. I know that these things should be their own rewards but motivation is a good thing.
Savings: I took home some free books discarded from my local library. I got some fitness books and a hard back fantasy novel. I also got a gift.

Baby Step, News: Police Raid 'Candy' Factory, thanks

Baby Steps

If you feel hopeless right now. You might feel you eat too much or too little. You might feel healthy eating is beyond your grasp. I am telling you that it is not hopeless.
Get a pen a paper and write down what you can do in little ways to change your situation. Can you eat a bigger breakfast? Can you walk during your lunch break? It’s not what you can’t do but what you can.
My starting over. I am trying to be healthy and control binges right now. I am at a weight that is healthy but I started binging on things other than carrots and diet free soda.I am doing healthy baby steps. I decided to start over. I will only journal my food no counting points right now. I do think WW is a great program. I am still using many parts I learned from it and I plan to go back to it as well as join calorie king. I miss my WW meetings and it would be so cool if someone started them.
Baby step part two I dusted off my exercise reward calendar. I am recording exercise for prizes. Prizes make exercise fun.If I do 30 workouts by august I get a small prize like a book or hand cream if I do 60 workouts by august I get a beiger prize if I do 100 I get both prizes. A weight workout because it is short 7 of them make one full workout. But you might but your own value on workouts.
Baby Step three Next I am working on drinking more water and naps. I binge more when I am exhausted.
Baby step Four Anyone with their own baby step that they can share? I feel I am missing a step here.

Sweet News: The Secret:, thankful list

Sweet News
I got mentioned on candy's Weight loss blog. http://weight-loss-journey.blogspot.com/2007/05/iportion.html#comments
Candy wrote about my coments about starting over and taking baby steps.

The Secret:
I watched the video for the secret but haven’t read the book. It seems key things are missing and a few things dead wrong. Parts were inspiring and Motivating. Some people like Jack Canfield were enlightening but some others were not so successful or got their success through outright fraud. I loved the focus on being positive like being pro peace instead of being anti war. Instead of being anti drugs and alcohol be pro clean living.
I thoroughly enjoyed some of the philosophers but the metaphysician is a complete moron. Not everything that goes wrong in your life you brought on yourself. Child abuse and neglect victims are not at fault for their parents addictions and actions. People who are struck by drunk drivers are not at fault if a drunk driver hits their car. Also I believe doctors might be inspired to create a medicine to benefit you not just other’s like you but you.
The real truth is that not everything we want and that is sometimes a great thing. Children who get too much things in childhood without any sense of want are more likely to be depressed in
Vision Boards don’t always work. I did the vision board when I was 20 to visualize my best selling. The book in my vision board though a good book got reads from a major publisher it was never picked up. Other books I didn’t do vision boards for at least found publishers Sometimes wishing is not good enough. I found out later being a best seller and being famous though I wanted it at the time is not what I needed. I just needed to write and make a little extra money from it.

Meetings, Online or With a Book?, Binging and Exercise, Thankful list

Meetings, Online or with a Book?

Did you lose or are you losing with Meetings, an online program or with a book?

Books:
I will start out with books. I love diet books but I find them the hardest to follow in the long run but some are amazing and have helped people who don’t like meetings.
Some books that make me scratch my head. Some diet authors have little concept of water gain. I read an excerpt of one such book said that if you gained more than 2 pounds in an evening you ate too many carbs. I almost died laughing. There are people who ate little of any carbs who had huge water gains in the evening but lost that and more the next day. People can weigh up to six pounds heavier at any given time.

Do you have a favorite or least favorite diet book?

Online:
Do you do an online weight loss program like WW online, Richard Simmons, spark people, ediets or calorie king? Did you maintain?
What did you like? I am thinking of joining calorie king in September. I moved and no longer have access to weight watcher meetings. The healthy weight meetings
We had here fizzled. I did well OA online but I need something that offered me an eating plan. I quit due to a loss of a friend and I didn’t feel chatty.
I regret losing one of my OA lists because there were neat people on it.

Meetings:
Do you do or did weight loss meetings?
Is there anything you liked or didn’t like?
I lost with weight watchers and felt it was pretty good.

Binging and Exercise:
I am trying something different not to lose weight but just not to binge. I want to halter my binging
I strength trained today or rather will for a few minutes after this post.

Update: I did my weights and went on a picnic lucnh and just got a gift. Lunch was full of fatty goodness. I did not ad more mayo to the sub though. It came with mayo already on.

Binge moster

I am happy. So it's not that I am binging due to being upset.
The binge monster has found me again. My situation is physical and a biological response but binging is becoming more fun. I got to make it unfun.

I need to weight train more and eat a big salad. I am journaling what I eat today but not counting. I hope to get a huge salad for lunch.

Any ideas?

There were also some great parties with wonderful food last week.
I also had a huge trouble binging and snacking last week. There were days I overate and didn’t count but not binges. I binged on frosting yesterday but unlike past bingies it was only two to three servings that’s because only four servings were left. Anyone have any ideas about motivating myself to journal
and exercise? Usually I am the motivator but I do know everyone makes mistakes.
Tell me how you get OP on program again after making mistakes.

Food
I was under budget this week on groceries. I didn’t get apples though so I might have to go back to the store. I thought going over budget. I had to buy yeast which is a pretty penny.
It's cheaper to buy bread which I do but I love good bread. Yeast is cheaper when making my own pizzas and breadsticks.

Men buy more Pricey handbags? Thanks

Confession: I ate at a party and I didn't journal it tonight, The food was good but I ate a lot.

I got this from reuters
Men go for luxury when choosing handbags: survey Wed May 9, 8:16 AM ET LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Men are more likely than women to opt for a luxury brand when buying handbags -- and it's the label, not the price, that counts, according to a survey of wealthy shoppers. The Luxury Institute on Tuesday said the demand for luxury bags remains strong, with about one third of 1,500 wealthy American shoppers surveyed buying a branded bag in the last 12 months.
"The luxury handbag is the accessory that defines the wealthy woman and is a major profit driver for luxury fashion brands," said Milton Pedraza, chief executive of the New York-based researcher focused on wealthy consumers.
The Luxury Institute found that men were more likely than women to reach for a luxury label when buying a handbag -- 73 percent of men, compared with 50 percent of women -- and over three times more likely to choose luxury French brand Chanel.
But overall, U.S. label Coach has become the most popular bag among wealthy shoppers, leading with a 29 percent market share with other brands compete heavily for the rest of the pie.
The survey of shoppers with an average income of $308,000 and average net worth of $3.1 million found Coach was the most familiar brand of designer handbags, recognized by 52 percent of respondents.
That compared to 24 percent for Gucci, 22 percent for Louis Vuitton, and 21 percent for Prada.
But familiarity with the pricier Italian brands rises as wealth increases, according to the report.
Looking at consumers whose yearly paycheck was above $300,000, the survey found that 38 percent were familiar with Coach, while 34 percent were aware of Gucci.
Price did not come into the equation even though bags from luxury fashion houses such as Chanel, Prada and Gucci, owned by parent company PPR, can cost in the thousands of dollars, while Coach bags generally cost hundreds of dollars.
Consumers said the price was not as important a consideration as quality and reputation when judging between luxury brands.

Perfume, makerting lies, food shopping, thanks,

For those wanting to know about the Cake Batter Perfume
The perfume is by Demeter which put out a whole bunch of scents including dirt, sushi and jelly beans. I haven’t tried them yet. I bought my Cake batter perfume online but not from Demeter’s site. I am afraid I’d go perfume crazy if I did.
Some articles I’ve read state that Demeter is a favorite of celebrities. It is more expensive than the imitation perfumes you can get at the grocery store but for a designer perfume it doesn’t cost a fortune.
http://www.demeterfragrance.com/
I will buy cheap make up because most make up is made by the same companies. I don’t feel I have to where it all the time. I don’t like foundation. I think foundation is cumbersome and unnatural and most clog pores. I think good perfume is worth it.

Marketing Lies
What I don't like is buying what I will not enjoy. What will bring me to debt. I do like shopping.
Men and woman shop differently but were both made to feel guilty or
that we deserve something to get us to waste money.
It's okay to buy stuff and it's okay to be rich. But do we have to buy the things they tell us that we want.
How many men each year are quilted into spending way too much on an engagement ring?
How many woman are made to feel they need a overpriced purse instead of the computer they can really use.
We not only programmed with ads to spend money but on what will make us feel good.
That’s not to say don’t like feminine things but there are a lot of poor quality ugly shoes hats and purses around that are only bought because they are expensive.
I saw these very ugly hats for $400.
We are told that thrift store stuff isn't good enough. We are told that if you are overweight you are not attractive. That I found out is another marketing lies. You can be beautiful at any size.

"There is no beauty in the finest cloth if it makes hunger and unhappiness." Gandhi

Food Shopping: I didn’t get as much veggies as I wanted. They looked extra sad this week. What do you do for veggies. My shea butter arrived. They sometimes sell coco butter in town but have to order shea butter and my favorite brand is an exclusive of one particular online store. Though there are a few smaller places that claim to carry it.

Girl

Girl
I am girlie enough: When I was a pre-teen through my early 20’s I was accused of not being girlie enough. Mostly this was because I was overweight, had ADHD and had bad hairdo my mom forced me to wear. I do have really cool hair but it took a long time to grow out. When I was 7 through 12 I discovered that I was attracted to qeek and tech boys and not the type of man women call hunks. Tom Cruise was not the type of guy I found attractive.
I was told by one family member on a regular basses that I had a body of foot ball player and should have been born a boy.
I found out this family member hated being a woman due to lack of opportunities she had. It wasn’t meant to be hurtful. She was projecting herself on to me.

Tiffany’s or Amazon: Iportion: AmazonI love books. I love books I love books. I also love fitness stuff. I’d rather have gift card to target or Wal-Mart than one Tiffany bauble
Computers or diamonds: I portion: Computers
Fancy perfume or cheap perfume Iportion: Fancy perfumeGood perfume is wonderful unless it’s but I don’t like Kline’s marketing so I’d rather get imitation Obsession than the real stuff. My favorite perfume at the moment is Demeter’s cake batter.

Book News, Home Gyms, thankfull

Book News:
I ate two atomic fireballs today they were the mouth burning goodness from my teen years at camp. I have a children’s picture book that is supposed to be being published next year but I will announce it.

Fitness
I walked today and used my stepping machine.

The Art of Home Gyms
A pay for gym might interest me if it had on site babysitting for an extra fee, a mommy and child fitness class, weird and fun fitness classes and access to a personal trainer.
Right now the best place I find for fitness is right at home and going for walks. Here is why.

Why I dislike home gyms
1. Can be distracted by the open fridge or home snack bar. “This is my biggest issue which is why I do a lot of walks”
2. Can get distracted by the computer.
Even with these problems I still prefer doing a home gym.
Going to a gym would really appeal to me if it had daycare, a trainer and some silly fun classes instead of the same old equipment and maybe had a TV attached to the equipment to play video games. I get board easily and doing the same thing all the time just puts me into snooze

Why I like home gym.

1. I do not have to wait long time to use my equipment. If I want to use my stability ball I use it. If a family member wants it I just use another favorite equipment since everything is what I like.
2. I have no monthly fees.
3. I don’t have to find a baby sitter. I don’t have to wait till my husband comes home.
4. I can exercise even when I can’t make it out.
5. If I don’t use my equipment I am waiting money.
